Only have one day? Choose the Argentine side. It has more circuits, more contact with the waterfalls and the Devil's Throat. The Brazilian side is the perfect panoramic photo, but if you have to choose just one, the Argentine side is the more complete experience.

Logistics tips
Start with the Argentine side
It is the longest route and the one that requires the most energy. Save it for the first day, when you are fresh. The Brazilian side is shorter and can be combined with other attractions.
Group activities in Brazil together
Each border crossing takes 30-60 minutes. Instead of crossing twice, concentrate everything in Foz on the same day (or two if you have 4-5 days). Brazilian Falls + Parque das Aves + AquaFoz fit perfectly in one day.
Book your transfer in advance
There is no reliable Uber in Puerto Iguazú. Arranging transfers before arrival saves time and stress, especially for the Brazil crossing and early morning departures to the park.
Arrive early at the National Park
The park opens at 8:00 AM. If you arrive first thing, you avoid crowds at the Devil's Throat and on the Ecological Train. During peak season the difference is enormous.
Leave Wanda + San Ignacio for a separate day
It is a full-day excursion (8-9 hours). Do not try to combine it with another activity. Early departure (~7:00 AM) and return in the afternoon.

Can you see Iguazú Falls in a single day?
It is possible but not recommended. In a single day you could see one side (Argentine or Brazilian), but not both comfortably. If you only have one day, choose the Argentine side: it has more circuits and the Devil's Throat.
Which side of the Falls should I visit first?
We recommend starting with the Argentine side. It is the longest route (4-6 hours) and requires the most energy. The Brazilian side is shorter (2-3 hours) and easily combines with Parque das Aves and AquaFoz.
Can I see both sides on the same day?
Technically yes, but you will be rushing. The Argentine side takes 4-6 hours and the Brazilian 2-3. Add the border crossing (40-60 min). It makes for an exhausting day. Ideally, dedicate one day to each side.
When is the best time to visit Iguazú?
March to May and August to October: pleasant weather (20-28°C), less rain and fewer tourists. January-February and July are peak season (very hot or winter holidays). The Falls can be visited year-round.
Do I need a full day for Wanda Mines and San Ignacio?
Yes. It is an 8-9 hour excursion with an early departure (~7:00 AM). You visit the semi-precious stone mines and the Jesuit Ruins (UNESCO). Do not combine with another activity that day.
How many transfers do I need during my stay?
Minimum: airport → hotel, hotel → Argentine Falls, hotel → Foz do Iguaçu (Brazilian Falls), hotel → airport. That is at least 4 transfers in 2 days. With 3-5 days you add additional excursions. The most practical approach is to coordinate all of them with the same transfer service.
